Jaishankar Meets Qatar’s Amir and PM in Doha to Bolster Strategic Ties

India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha on Sunday to advance bilateral cooperation. Discussions covered energy security, trade exceeding $18 billion in 2024, investments, and support for 800,000 Indian expatriates in Qatar. The leaders also discussed regional stability amid West Asia tensions, including Gaza and Red Sea issues, following the 2025 elevation of ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
